Grimsby Town boss Alan Buckley is looking for on loan defender Rob Atkinson to stay with the club for another month.

Atkinson, who was on loan at the Shay last season, has impressed at Grimsby and Buckley is looking to agree deals for him and Sam Hird from Doncaster Rovers

Buckley told The Mariners Website, "I have spoken to Simon Davey at Barnsley and I do expect that Rob will be here for another month at least.

"They are good, hungry young players and I think our little change in system has helped them to settle in and look so comfortable in our team."

He scored two goals in four appearances in his time at the Shay.
