Former Halifax Town centrehalf Neal Trotman has joined Coca Cola Championship strugglers Preston North End from Oldham Athletic for a fee of £500,000.

Trotman, who made 11 appearances for the Shaymen last season whilst on loan from Boundary Park, had interest from both Plymouth and Hull City but has opted for a move to Deepdale.
