WFC Match :- Wilder's View
"It was massively disappointed. Thought especially for 20 minutes in the second half we got ourselves back into the game. We deservedly got an equaliser and it was the best period of the match. It was concentrated.
We said before little things decide games, if the boy smashes on into the top corner from 30 yards you hold your hands up but we've been done in by a basic throw in to their front man and it's lifted them to get them back in front.
We've worked ever so hard and we don't want to get too down about the result. There's a long way to go. Every team wants to start the new season with a win but it important to pick ourselves up on Tuesday and next Saturday. You've seen the application of the boys in there and the enthusiasm they have all put in. We can still do something this season.
I think if we can keep Cortez feet on the ground and do some work with him that he has a good future to go at. He's aggressive, strong and a good athlete. Thought he was excellent. I thought Rob Scott calmed us down and Steve Bushell showed the experience in midfield.
I thought it was a decent game, they have some good players. If you sit off them they can pick you off. We made them have to change their formation.
Disappointing thing is that we were going for the win really and we looked really strong and it's a bitter swallow to take at the death.
The endeavour is there, there's a lot to go on from there from my point of view. We possibly need to strengthen but the bones are there to do well this season.
There is a thin dividing line between winning and losing.
We need to more clinical and it has to happen. We need to pick up points away from home.
Mawson got a bang on the head and had concussion. He's done really well to come through the game and Stamp was smashed on his back and we needed to keep him on as he causes defences problems and he was struggling which is why I took him off."
