CUFC Match :- Wilder's Views
Halifax Town manager Chris Wilder said, "I enjoyed the game, hopefully the players did. We were full of confidence coming into the game which might be surprising coming into the match.
It was an end to end game. We started off very well but we got pegged back which is disappointing from our point of view. We suffered with the loss of Jon Shaw. We reorganised ourselves. We had the disappointment of going behind to a superb strike from their lad into the top corner.
After that we kept our shake, we created chances with Daryl Taylor and Lewis Killen who were a constant threat to the back three of Cambridge. Taylor could easily have had a hat trick this afternoon.
We've come up trumps and scored from a set piece and delighted to get a result.
I think Jon annoyed the referee and tensions were quite high on the far side. He told me he tried to jump across the defender and made minimal contact. I think he set himself up a little bit by losing his head a minute before that. I will have a look at the video and I don't think he's possible done the lad, I think he just jumped across him. There were plenty of centre forwards I played against that did that during the years. However with the decision before by getting booked he's left himself wide open.
I thought tactically we got it spot on, I personally think we deserved something out of the game. I've seen games before where today we would have won that. We had a chance in the dying minutes that Daryl had a glorious effort, I won't have a go at him as he worked his socks off this afternoon and was a constant menace to them.
I've told the boys that's another two points dropped.
