KHFC Match :- Wilder's View
Halifax Town boss Chris Wilder was delighted with his 10 man battling performance tonight.
He said after the game, "I thought it was a magnificent response by the players and that's for both of the last two games. I've got nothing but praise for my players tonight. It was a battling performance, we played the football that was on show tonight. We had the better chances late on.
However it was rash defending again, a good ball into the box and Tez is the unlucky one whose scored the own goal. It's the second year in succession that we have been undone by an own goal here. I can't really blame Cortez as he was one of my players who were absolutely superb for me tonight.
We are a committed side and we're organised. We are compact and I don't want us to be an easy touch. Two sendings off in the last couple of games have made it massively difficult for us. Sometimes you learn in difficult situations a lot about your players. I think we've learnt a lot about Cortez, a lot about our skipper, Daryl Taylor, Lewis Killeen who I did know about. Players have really come through in the last two games.
If we can keep 11 men on the pitch and stop shooting ourselves in the foot with silly individual mistakes, I think we can be a good side in this league. At the moment, the individual mistakes were cut out at Cambridge and got someone sent off. Tonight we've cut out the mistakes and got someone sent off. It's very uneven for us at the moment.
I take the sending off, but there were some awful decisions made out there tonight. I don't understand the disallowed goal, our boys haven't said anything neither have theirs. Their lads turned round and thought they had chucked two points away and the referee is the only one to have seen something. Hopefully they'll be a time when an opposition players gets sent off against us and the luck changes round.
Alex Bailey did his groin just before the break so we brought Toulson on. We'll have to assess him over the coming days.
