ECFC Match :- Wilder's View
Halifax Town boss Chris Wilder was philosophical after he saw his side go down 1-0 at Exeter City this afternoon.
He said after the game, "I can't fault my players in effort or commitment. We played on Thursday night in the Setanta Shield and not had long to prepare for this game. Exeter have had a full week to prepare for this match.
We've had chances with Gaia, Shaw and Killeen in the first half while Gaia had a great chance towards the end. They have a three or four good chances but I think their goalkeeper has had to work harder especially in the last 15 minutes or so.
It was always going to be a tough place to get a result, they are doing well in the league and need the win themselves.
We have 8 massive league games coming up between now and the end of the season. We may slipped into the bottom four but if my players show the same effort and commitment, I'm convinced that we will stay in this league.
We had to take Danny Forrest off at halftime, he's been struggling with illness. Jon Shaw has come off the treatment table, he wanted to play. Gareth Davies has a groin injury he picked up before Thursday's game at Rushden but I expect to have Quinn, Davies, Campbell and Joynes all back for next Saturday's game.
We are going to recall Darryn Stamp from his loan spell from Northwich after today's game and we need to keep focused on the challenge ahead.
We have a full week to prepare for three home games in seven days and there are plenty of points still up for grabs. We have to remain positive and we will turn this round.
