KHFC Match :- Wilder's View
Halifax Town boss Chris Wilder was not happy with his side's performance against Kidderminster tonight.
He said after the game, "It doesn't feel any better in the changing room. It was an horrific result and performance. We have obviously bottomed out and we need to show a reaction on Thursday night.
The only positive thing from tonight, the others teams around us at the bottom haven't done fantastic. So we're still in and amongst it. Tonight's result is a definite low point in recent times for the Football Club. I though we deservedly got beat. Their lad smacked one in from 25 yards but I thought it was men against boys tonight for the majority of the game.
They showed a reaction just after halftime but then decided to go gung ho and do ridiculous things and we get beat 6-1. I have no complaints about the result or score-line. We have to change it and get a result now on Thursday night.
I have always said we don't relegated on the 8th April, it would happen towards the end of the month. Tonight is obviously a massive blow to us, we have to get off the canvas and show what we are all about. They'll only doing that by turning the tables round and getting a result.
The gap between being decent on Saturday to being awful tonight was too big. Players were making individual mistakes technically. We were weak all over the pitch both mentally and physically tonight.
Ours Centre forwards were caught offside, midfielders not tracking runners, defenders not getting tight enough. We lost battles all over the pitch physically, getting dragged all over the place.
I watched Kidderminster myself last week and we knew how they would play but the players made their own decisions in order to protect them which is disappointing.
There may be wholesale changes on Thursday, there may be minimal changes, there may be changes in formation but we have to do miles better than we did do tonight.
It was horrific for myself, the players and the supporters tonight who didn't deserve a performance like that. I take the responsibility for it. I am at pains to fathom how we can be decent on Saturday to tonight.
There has been an obvious deep in confidence since we went into administration; I think a lot of players are playing with one foot on the break. That doesn't legislate a performance like that and it won't be tolerated.
The players have let a lot of people down. Whatever happens in the summer players, manager or chairman wise we give it the full tilt for the next six games to give us a chance to get out of this.
I am contracted until the end of next season and I am here until someone tells me otherwise. I think my record stands up in this league. There aren't any other managers who have had to put up with what I have had to. Speaking to other managers, other clubs have not had 10 points whipped off in March. I think teams go overboard when they are doing well and when things aren't doing so well. You always carry out the can, it's not the way I wanted to go about it.
There is no hiding place out there for the players or myself. In terms of my own position, I don't know if they expect me to walk away or another manager to come in when we are in administration and 10 points off. I don't know if there would be any takers out there. I am committed until someone tells me otherwise. My best was good enough on Saturday, tonight it wasn't good enough. I am part of the team. We can effect in certain ways, you can't legislate for errors.
If the club was in a different situation I would guess my position would be in review but would that be with or without the ten points knocked off ? Is that with the blow of going into administration after three wins and a draw. I am trying to lift the pressure off the players.
When you lose 6-1 at home, your job will be under review. However I think this is a unique club. How can you judge myself with Mark Yates, Nigel Clough, Dino Maarmria or Graham Heathcote ?
The only positive was it was only three points lost. We have to get over this and make sure we are brave, strong and positive for Thursday night.
