BAFC Match :- Wilder's View
Halifax Town boss Chris Wilder was pleased with his side's performance tonight.
I thought it was a magnificent performance tonight and I did think it was against 12 men. I have not been sent off but reported once; I can't for the life of me see why I have not been sent off this season. I have spoken to the assessor and he can't speak to me about the referee's performance. I've tried to discuss it with him. He said it comes up with experience; he'll get better with experience. So I hope when he does get experienced, other teams take advantage and have a good game of football.
I think all the supporters and everyone connected with us will have seen every decision has gone against us tonight. Daryl Clare has played the game a long time, he's experienced and my boys should show the same know how. I think he has conned the referee in terms of the freekick for the first tackle and the second one that Simon got sent off. He's played his part in getting his team a win; I understand that, professionalism and the referee has swallowed it left right and sinker. They've scored a goal straight away, hit a wonder goal and yet again my team won't lie down.
I though overall we were superb. Daryl Taylor had a spasm in his back at halftime. I thought he was superb first half and gave us a platform to try to win the game. I can't criticise my team, I can nit pick a little bit, Simon Ainge because he is a young boy and he's been sucked in. When we needed a touch of composure and luck in front of goal we've not had it. I've said to the players that will decide games in the next three ties.
I thought our back three snuffed out everything they could offer tonight. I can't remember Legzdins making any other saves apart from Daryl Clare's freekick and we've created them problems at the other end.
They have to give me that between now and the end of the season. They shouldn't beat themselves up after that; we are on an upward curve. We couldn't get any lower after Kidderminster. We got a great result on Thursday night, good performance and point on Saturday. I think tonight was the best performance out of the three. The result wasn't good but a couple of others around us got beat.
There are nine points to play for and I think we can win all three games. I believe that and I think we have given Burton one of their hardest games of the season. I don't think we've got the rewards for our efforts tonight.
