SBFC Match :- Wilder's View
Halifax Town manager Chris Wilder said after the game, "If there is any luck and any justice in this world we deserved it.
Today has probably summed up our season, giving two goals away, getting one back and a back's against the walls performance. There were shots off the line, their goalkeeper making save after save for them. I have got nothing but praise for my team. I don't think people out of football how much of an effect having 10 points taking off you. It was more like 20. It was a difficult situation we were put in and not many teams get out of it. This group of players deserve a slice of luck for the effort and desire they have put especially over the last six weeks.
It is a massive achievement for this club to have stayed up today.
We weren't at the races in the first half, Stevenage came and was confident. Their lad slams one in from 25 yards; we weren't good in the first half.We raised our game in the second half but we were out of the contest at halftime but we have belief. I personally think we deserved the win, which disappoints me we didn't do it.
We kept in touch with the result at the other game. We thanked the players for their efforts after the final whistle and then found out there was six minutes to go at Weymouth. Time stopped, my watch stopped and we sat in the changing room and thanked them for their efforts.
The players were out there on the back legs, the lads were shattered. They must have played 15 games in the last 2 ½ days or it is how it has felt.
I thought the support was superb today and hopefully when the consortium gets their offer accepted then it proves Halifax Town want their football team."
