Town squandered a two goal lead, allowing Forest Green back on to level terms with goals either side of the half time whistle.Whilst the result ultimately means disappointment there were positive signs of a change in fortunes.

Chris Wilder kept the same starting line up for the first time this season after Tuesday's wonderful display against Dagenham and Redbridge but different opposition bringing different challenges and although Town were unable to repeat the classy flowing football that saw off The Daggers, they looked comfortable as they took a two goal lead in the first half.

It took a dozen minutes for the first shot of note when Adriano Rigoglioso, on loan from Morecambe, failed to test Craig Mawson from 25 yards. Town took the lead on 24 minutes following a break in play due to a Forest Green. The drop ball was sportingly returned to Mawson, Ryan Sugden flicked his huge punt into Andy Campbell's path. The ex Middlesborough and Cardiff man lifted his shot over the advancing Steve Williams but for the second game in a row he hit the woodwork.Thankfully Sugden was following up, controlled the ball on this chest and rifled home a left footed finish.

Gus Uhlenbeek

Mawson set up another attack shortly afterwards. His throw found Jake Wright who fed Campbell on the half way line.Campbell turned and beat 4 defenders with blistering pace before shooting wide.

A 34th minute corner led to Town doubling the lead.Martin Foster's corner was cleared back to him and he attempted to return the ball into the box but was blocked.Tenatious play resulted in another corss and this time Danny Forrest was on hand to beat Williams from 12 yards with a right footed shot for his second goal of the season.

The referee waved away FGR's penalty appeal after 38 minutes but duly obliged 3 minutes later when Greg Young was adjudged to have fouled ex Shayman Alex Meechan. Some felt the alleged foul was outside the box, some felt the decison was extremely harsh but Kevin Nicholson's cool spot kick gave Rovers a lifeline.Five minutes after the interval the scores were level.

Danny Forrest vs FGR

Handball was given against Adam Quinn on the edge of the box.The Town wall blocked the initial shot but the rebound fell to ex Hereford man Jamie Pitman who gave his former Edgar Street team mate Craig Mawson no chance.

Danny Forrest's surging runs on the right were the most likely source of another Halifax Town goal but he shot wide after being fed by Quinn, and he then fed Campbell who set off at pace only to be challenged on the edge of the area, a challenge that looked suspiciously like a foul but one that saw Christian Edwards leave the field on a stretcher.

Quinn had a fortunate escape when the increasingly frustrating referee Mr Waugh adjudged he'd fouled Alan Russell as he headed for goal.Mr Waugh surprisingly produced a yellow card but this does come at a cost as the talisman centre half wil now be suspended.Rigoglioso's free kick hit the wall.

Forrest failed to hit the target with another shot then Shane Smeltz on for Ryan Sugden set Campbell off on another run but he lifted his shot over the bar form 10 yards out.

Mr Waugh's erratic decision making took over in the last 10 minutes missing a clear handball froma corner and amazingly awarding a goal kick after Smeltz's goal bound header was deflected over the bar off a defender.Keeper Williams made late saves from Greg Young and Martin Foster resulting in a 2 v 2 draw.
