It's taken a long time to arrive but Andy Campbell's first goal in a Halifax Town shirt set The Shaymen on the road to a 2 v 0 victory over Kidderminster Harriers at The Shay.Campbell's relief was plain for all to see as he celebrated the goal but his evening ended on a sour note when he limped off injured in the 2nd half. But his goal, added to by Jake Wright saw the Club record it's 3rd win of the season.

Chris Wilder brought Adam Quinn back into the side following suspension but was forced into a further change when Lewis Killeen's car broke down on the way to the game meaning Steve Torpey started on the left wing. And, the Manager was delighted by the form shown by his rearguard who secured thier first clean sheet of the season.

The opening minutes were dominated by the Referee's whistle which prevented any flow to the game.Craig Mawson parried an Iyseden Christie header but the Town defence pounced to clear the ball and Ryan Sugden shot narrowly over after good work from Danny Forrest and Martin Foster.

The Sponsor's Man of the Match Danny Forrest was at the heart of Town's best attacks and he set up the opening goal for Campbell in the 37th minute when he escaped his marker on the half way line. His run took him in field where he played the ball into Sugden's path and his incisive flick left the former Middlesbrough and Cardiff man with a scoring opportunity and he duly obliged.

The goal started a concerted spell of pressure and Sugden, Forrest and Foster all had shots blocked and The Shaymen had to settle for a 1 goal lead at the interval.

Kidderminster started the second hald positively and Mawson pulled off a wonderful save from a Jake Sedgemore free kick but in truth this was the visitors clearest opportunity as the Town defence, with Greg Young and Adam Quinn commanding, comfortably dealt with anything the Worcestershire side could throw at them.

A sweeping move almost ended with Sugden's 4th goal in 4 games but his right foot shot hit the bar.

Andy Campbell limped from the field, the first of 3 substitutions. The impressive but tiring Tom Kearney was replaced by fellow home debutant Nick Gray and Lewis Killeen took Steve Torpey's place on the left and enjoyed the freedom to create the 2nd goal for Jake Wright. He beat his man on the left and aided by Sugden set up Wright who powered home a left foot shot from 10 yards which gave keeper Scott Bevan no chance.

Gus Uhlenbeek ended the game in midfield after suffering a suspected hamstring injury which coupled with Campbell's injury and added to by Martin Foster's suspension mean Chris Wilder has to shuffle his resources for Saturday's long trip to the south west to face Exeter City. But, tonight's win has given the entire squad a boost and confidence will be high.
