Halifax Town triumphed over Stafford rangers at The Shay today, beating their visitors 3 v 1.
Chriw Wilder promised changes after the defeat at Northwich and his promise came true.Loan signing from Barnsley, Rob Atkinson, replaed Jake Wright at centre half.In midfield Gus Uhlenbeek took the place of Danny Forrest on the right and Lewis Killeen dropped back into midfield to cover Steve Torpey's injury.Up front Shane Smeltz was partnered by another man on loan from Oakwell, Nathan Joynes.
It took Joynes less than 3 minutes to make his mark on his debut in a blue shirt.A surging run by Tyrone Thompson released Killeen on the left and his cross was bundled home by Joynes at the far post and The Shaymen had an early lead.Gus Uhlenbeek was involved in most of Town's attacks. His measured cross narrowly evaded Adam Quinn's forehead and Lewis Killeen headed another cross back across goal a minute later but the ball failed to fall for Joynes or Smeltz.

Stafford Rangers attacking threat included 42 year old Neil Grayson and his first impact on the game was a 16th minute caution after consecutive fouls. He did however emphasise his threat from a header but Craig Mawson showed great agility to turn the ball over the bar.
Tom Kearney failed to chip visiting keeper Danny Alcock after good work from Smeltz and Ryan Toulson on the right, then Smeltz raced clear on the right but was lost possession as he shaped to shoot.Uhlenbeek brought a comfortable save from Alcock on the stroke of half time and Town headed into the interval with a one goal lead.
Smeltz went close to doubling the lead soon after the break but Alcock saved on his goal line but the second goal wasn't long in coming.A long Toulson throw near the corner flag was headed on by Quinn and Killeen shot home from the edge of the box.

Toulson and Uhlenbeek were enjoying acres of space on the right side and linked well on countless occasions.Smeltz narrowly failed to get his head to a Toulson cross and miskicked when picked out in the penalty area by the young full back shortly afterwards.
Danny Forrest who had been a doubt through a combination of illness and injury replaced an impressive Uhlenbeek and Joynes made way for Chris Senior.
On 80 minutes Stafford got themselves a lifeline when they pulled a goal back.A long ball forward evaded the Town defence and ex Forest Green Rovers forward Guy Madjo found the net.
With recent setbacks fans may have expected a tense finale but Lewis Killeen averted these fears with his second goal of the game, and third of the season.Ryan Sugden, who had replaced Smeltz took the ball from Senior and fed Killeen 30 yards from goal.Killeen drew Alcock and finished neatly to round off a solid performance.
