Halifax Town have been defeated at Aggborough tonight with an own goal from young defender Ryan Toulson, playing at centrhalf.
Town boss Chris Wilder was forced to playing Jake Wright and Ryan Toulson in a make shift centrehalf partnership which sees all his recognised players out injured. Darryn Stamp and Lewis Killeen also missed the game through injury which saw Town start with Shane Smeltz up front.
Town started the game well, forcing the first corner of the game on 5 minutes. Steve Torpey making his first start for a few months crossed from the right hand side and the home goalkeeper Scott Bevan tipped the ball over for the corner. Tom Kearney's set piece was too hight and a freekick was given by the other corner.
Russell Penn fired wide of Mawson's left hand post on 12 minutes when the ball dropped nicely at his feet.
There was a possible scare on 17 minutes. Jake Wright was yellow carded for a challenge in midfield. The ball was launched into the penalty area, Mawson was unable to catch the ball under pressure and caught it at the edge of the box. The home crowd appealed for handball but was not given by referee Mr Fletcher.
Tom Kearney fired over the top of the home stand after a good freekick from the right by Torpey, whils a freekick was charged down by the home wall after a foul on the edge of the box on Shane Smeltz.
Freekick to Kidderminster saw Mawson punch the ball clear on 28 minutes, Town started a counter attack with Doughty and Kearney finding Torpey but the defence got back well to time a challenge in the penalty area.
Uhlenbeek joined Wright in the book on 29 minutes for a late challenge.
Kidderminster took the lead on 31 minutes, Wright did well to make a good tackle and block an effort on goal, however the ball landed to Kidderminster, the ball was placed wide with Wright trying to get close enough to stop the cross, however the ball came in Toulson got a touch with his head which went past Mawson and put Mark Yates side ahead.
Town went up field looking for an instant response, Doughty's cross found Steve Torpey who screwed his shot well wide of the left hand post.
Haslam and Smeltz combined two minutes later but the Kiwi striker fired wide of the left hand post.
Into injury time, Kidderminster's Simon Russell evaded challenges from Doughty and Wright and fired straight at Mawson.
Uhlenbeek, Haslam and Forrest combined on 53 minutes which set up the former Bradford City man in the box but he fired over the bar, while Tom Kearney fired over a minute later.
Chris Wilder switched Torpey for Bastians in an effort to get back into the game but Kidderminster could easily have made is 2-0 two minutes later. Mark Creighton, Harriers man of the match, headed straight at Mawson following Jonny Harkness' corner.
Blackwood forced a fine save out of Mawson for a corner, Harkness' ball in was headed wide of the right hand post.
Mawson pulled another fine save on 78 minutes with Blackwood again being thwarted by an impressive visiting goalkeeper.
Town's best effort saw Smeltz and Thompson combine, the cross in found substiutute Simon Parke who headed over from 8 yards.
Toulson joined Wright and Uhlnebeek in the box for a late challenge.
Town's next game is on Saturday, when we face Exeter City at the Shay.
