KHFC Match :- Preview
Kidderminster v Halifax Town
Tuesday 9th October
Aggborough Stadium
Kick Off - 7.45pm
Town are on the road again this Tuesday, this time travelling to Kidderminster for their 15th game of the Blue Square Premier League campaign.
Kidderminster currently lie in 11th position in the table, and The Shaymen can go one place above them with a win at the Aggborough Stadium.
Both teams come together in this encounter on the back of draws from the weekend.Kiddy shared the points with Crawley on Saturday, and Town fighting their way to a 2-2 draw away at Cambridge.
Injury news ahead of the game means that Town again look to the bare bones of a front line, which sees Andy Campbell definitely out, Darryn Stamp doubtful and Jon Shaw suspended after his red card at the Abbey Stadium at the weekend. On a positive note, Lewis Killeen made a welcome return to the starting line up against Cambridge, and will keep his place for Tuesday's trip.
Kidderminster look set to continue with Chris McKenzie between the posts, after his howler gifted Crawley their equaliser at the weekend. The goalkeeper rolled the ball out in front of him in the 70th minute for a routine clearance upfield, however he failed to look behind him. Thus giving Guy Madjo a chance to sneak in and steal a goal.
One player to watch out for is Harriers striker John Constable. He netted his 10th strike of the campaign on Saturday, and former Town player Brian Smickle may also play - he featured as a substitute in the same game.
As for The Shaymen, a great team performance at the Abbey Stadium saw the usual mixed fortunes for the final score.Despite the superb 2-2 scoreline, and amazing individual and team performances all over the park, what the players are still finding hard do is shut teams out. Another 2 goals conceded against Cambridge might mean even more tinkering in the defence, as Chris Wilder attempts to get the back four cooking on the same gas as the rest of the team.Matt Doughty could make another start, after playing left wing back on Saturday, and Alex Bailey looks set to retain his place on the right of the defensive line, after impressing.
The partnership of Griffiths and Kearney is becoming more and more fruitful, and this heartbeat of the team are likely to remain the same for the foreseeable future, and Steve Torpey may come back in to the side, depending on the formation that Mr Wilder decides to play.
Over to the stats, and Kidderminster edge out as favourites in this one, averaging 2 goals a game at home in their 7 matches so far this season.Town are impressive with their goal tally on the road, scoring 1.43 goals per game. The bookmakers are offering 3/1 for a Town win, which is very generous, considering we're looking forward to an evenly matched contest.
