The Shaymen look to this weekend hoping to bury the memory of the 4-0 reverse at home to Burton Albion in the F.A. Cup a week ago, with a tricky game away at Stevenage Borough in their 19th game of the Blue Square Premier League season.

As ever, the headlines for Halifax have been rife this week, and none more so as the shock news that defender Cortez Belle has been told that he can leave the club.Belle, a late summer signing by Chris Wilder, has become a firm favourite with the supporters in his 3 months at the club, and many have been surprised by the news which was reported this week. With the luck that Town have had with injuries, it's not known whether Belle will be included in the squad this weekend - Chris Wilder did indicate that "the door was still open" for the centre-back, however in many of the supporters minds it is believed that he will not figure again in the blue and white of Halifax Town.

Stevenage are flying this season, occupying 3rd place in the table with 36 points, just 4 points off Aldershot at the top of the BSP.On the 1st of this month, they named former England caretaker manager, and England under 21s boss Peter Taylor as their manager.Saturday's encounter will be Taylor's first home game in charge of The Boro, so the players and the fans alike will be giving their all to ensure that they bag 3 points. The move is also sure to attract some quality players to Broadhall Way in the January transfer window.

That's if Taylor feels that he needs to strengthen his squad. As a team, Stevenage have scored a fantastic 37 goals so far this term, with 18 in reply.Daryl McMahon and Steve Morison have been firing on all cylinders this season, netting plenty of goals between them, and will be the obvious threat when kick off approaches on Saturday.

Town are likely to stick with Adam Legzdins between the sticks, and Steve Bushell will be recalled to the starting line up, in place of the suspended Anthony Griffith, who faces a 2 match lay off for his red card in the game against Burton Albion.

Upfront, Darryn Stamp, who has been very impressive in recent games will partner Jon Shaw upfront, and Lewis Killeen, if fit, may replace Steve Torpey on the left of midfield.

Depending on other results, The Shaymen can climb to 12th with a win this weekend, which will give the fans hope that the club's fortunes in the Blue Square Premier League have turned the corner, following on from the stunning 3-0 victory against Crawley Town just 2 weeks ago.

Stevenage are favourites for this clash. The bookies are quoting 4/7 for a Stevenage win, and 9/2 on Halifax. You can get the draw at 5/2.

A small, yet vocal travelling contingent is expected to follow the Shaymen to Broadhall Way on Saturday - exclaiming that they "Know what they want and know how to get it"!

Come on Town!!
