One week after their stunning fight back from a 2-0 half time deficit to defeat Stevenage Borough by 3 goals to 2, Halifax Town play hosts to this seasons Blue Square Premier League newcomers, Salisbury City.

Salisbury, on the back of a 3-1 away victory to York City, make the trip up north after performing above expectations so far this year, and are proudly sitting in 12th place, and on 26 points.

Town are 2 places behind Salisbury with a 1 point deficit, and the stunning fight back against Stevenage last week means that they approach this game with 2 successive Blue Square Premier League victories under their belt, and looking in good shape to pick up 9 points from 9 at the weekend.

Tom Kearney starts his ban this weekend after being sent off at Broadway Hall, whilst Anthony Griffiths continues with his.Chris Wilder will no doubt be hoping that the only cards that his men will be picking up from now on will be Christmas cards, as Town have now picked up 6 reds in their last 9 games in all competitions.

The midfield is likely to be made up of Steve Torpey, Steve Bushell, possibly Darryl Taylor who could return to the fold, and Simon Heslop - whose loan period has been extended until January.

In attack, Jon Shaw will partner Darryn Stamp, and the back four is likely to include Ryan Toulson at right back.

As for Salisbury, danger man Matt Tubbs will be the main threat, should he be fit.Tubbs, in his 4th year at The Raymond McEnhill Stadium has scored a magnificent 88 goals in his 143 starts, and in his first Blue Square season the goals haven't dried up.Tubbs had to be substituted against York last week through injury, and he could join Scott Bartlett and Craig Richards on the sidelines.

Bet365.com is offering odds of 9/4 for a Salisbury victory, and evens for The Shaymen to take all 3 points. You can also get 100/1 on Steve Torpey to score 1st in a 3-1 Town win.

With the tax man being paid, 2 league wins on the bounce, and news that work on the East Stand is due to commence next summer, things are certainly looking up for the future of Halifax Town, both in the short and long term.

Enjoy the game on Saturday, and here's to 3 points.
