WFC Match :- Preview
Andy Campbell looks set to start his first Conference game since late September when Halifax Town entertain Weymouth at The Shay on Saturday. The striker has had to settle for a place on the bench over the past few weeks as he gains full fitness following injury but Chris Wilder is ready to unleash him on The Terras.
And, Wilder had the added bonus of having Danny Forrest available again following his loan spell at Hucknall Town as he recovered from an ankle injury.
With a more settled line up, everyone connected with The Shaymen will be looking for the first Conference win since the New Years Day win over Farsley Celtic. With a more settled line up and new defenders Gareth Davies and Tom Clarke making good impressions in their first 2 games for the Club confidence should be high for achieving the 3 points.
Town are seeking to avenge a 2 v 1 defeat at the Wessex Stadium on the opening day of the season. On a scorching hot afternoon a Tom Kearney goal was sandwiched in between strikes from Jason Coutts and Anton Robinson that secured victory for the Dorset Club.
Wemouth are now managed by veteran John Hollins who has previous Conference experience with Crawley Town. But they will find a Halifax Town side that found it's form in midweek with an excellent 1 v 0 triumph at Nuneaton Borough in the Setanta Shield courtesy of Jon Shaw's late penalty which was just reward for a dominant second half performance.
The Shaymen won the corresponding home fixture last season by a comprehensive 4 v 1 scoreline but none of the Town goalscorers on that occasion are still with the club.A double from Gus Uhlenbeek and strikes from Felix Bastians and Neal Trotman secured the win.
So The Shaymen head into Saturday's encounter looking for the points and looking for positive backing from the terraces.
