AFC Match :- Preview
The Shaymen make the one hour journey to Moss Lane, home of Altrincham FC on Tuesday evening looking to build on a 3 game unbeaten run that has coincided with a more settled line up.And, few changes if any are expected although Adam Quinn could return if he has shaken off the Achilles injury that has hampered him recently.
Chris Wilder will be looking for his team to secure only their 3rd win on their travels this season against a team that has lost 10 of their 17 Conference fixtures on home soil this term. But Altrincham have improved from a very poor start and now lie in 20th position and they will be looking for the points to keep them out of the relegation zone.Ex Chester and Bury Manager Graham Barrow's arrival as Assistant to Graham Heathcote has boosted the Cheshire Club as has a January recruitment campaign that saw 2 Halifax Town players, Ryan Toulson and Greg Young, head over the Pennines.
Toulson is on loan and is unlikely to feature in the fixture unless the Clubs reach an agreement but Young is likely to start the game. There are other familiar faces in the Altrincham squad in Colin Little and Chris Senior who were both on the bench for their 2 v 1 defeat at Exeter on Saturday but Val Owen won't play due to injury.
Colin Little scored the only goal of the game in Town's last visit to Altrincham but a late Ryan Sugden goal gave The Shaymen the points in the previous season. The last 2 home games at The Shay have resulted in draws, 1 v 1 last season on New Years Day when Nathan Joynes got the Town equaliser and Andy Campbell's first half brace was cancelled out in the first home game of this campaign.
A close and keenly contested game is likely and Town will have every confidence of extending their unbeaten to 4 games.
