BAFC Match :- Preview
The games continue to come around quickly for Chris Wilder and his players and they are in action again on Tuesday evening when they entertain familiar foes Burton Albion at The Shay in the quarter final of the Setanta Shield. The game was scheduled to take place last Thursday but a downpour an hour before kick off scuppered any chance.
Town will be looking to return to winning ways after the 2 v 0 defeat at Forest Green on Saturday and to recapture the form they showed a week ago against Torquay United when the football on show was a joy to behold. The Club are hoping fans will turn out in force and take advantage of reduced admission prices against Nigel Clough's team.
Town have already won at Histon and Nuneaton Borough to reach the quarter final stage of a competition that represents their only chance of silverware this season. With the number of games played recently and vitally important ones to come Chris Wilder is expected to shuffle his pack depending on fitness and players who have not featured recently may have the chance to impress the Manager.
Whatever line up is selected The Shaymen know a difficult evening lies ahead against a Burton side that currently lies in 5th position in the Conference. Will Burton's priorities lie elsewhere?Who knows, but it is unlikely they will select a full strength line up that has already visited The Shay twice this season.
Goals from leading scorer Jon Shaw and a Darren Stride own goal gave Town a 2 goal advantage in the Conference game but they were pegged back when Daryl Clare netted an equaliser deep into stoppage time. And they returned to record a 4 v 0 FA Cup win with the game turned by Anthony Griffith's red card.
A close encounter is expected.
