ECFC Match :- Preview
A trip to St James Park to face Exeter City isn't one most Halifax Town fans look forward to due to their teams poor record which shows only one win in the Devon City and that was back in the 87 / 88 season when goals from Peter Duffield and Lee Richardson took The Shaymen to a 2 v 1 win.
On the other hand supporters of The Grecians don't relish trips to The Shay as the record books show Halifax Town usually triumph. But back in December Exeter turned the form book upside down on a rain sodden surface and won the game 3 v 0 so Chris Wilder and his men will be looking for a repeat pattern from Saturday's long trip south.
One player who will be looking forward to playing at Exeter is Lewis Killeen as he has scored in his sides last 4 visits to Exeter but has yet to appear on a winning side.
Exeter are a difficult team to beat on home soil and have lost only once in 18 Blue Square Premier games this season and that was 4 v 1 to Burton Albion back in November. But they will meet a Halifax Town side in desperate need of points and one that is in determined mood.
Town have injury doubts surrounding a number of key players and Chris Wilder has already admitted in the press he will be without Andy Campbell and Nathan Joynes who has only just returned to full training after a thigh injury. So fingers will be crossed that top scorer Jon Shaw has recovered from the ankle injury he sustained against Oxford United and can lead the attack.
Santos Gaia returns to his former club and there is a familiar face in the Exeter side in Lee Elam.
Town will be hoping to return home with the points on Saturday evening.
