For the third time in 11 years Halifax Town meet Stevenage Borough at The Shay on the final day of the season. And, for the third time the game holds massive significance for the future of Halifax Town AFC.

A win or a point against Peter Taylor's team and The Shaymen are safe irrespective of how rivals Altrincham fare in Dorset where they must win against Weymouth.

Last season's finale ended in a 2 v 1 victory for Town with Andy Campbell netting twice and few Shay fans will forget the 4 v 2 win 11 years ago, a win that acted as a springboard for the following season when George Mulhall's team stormed to the Conference title.

A 10 point deduction for entering Administration in March has resulted in a survival battle this time around and Chris Wilder's men have shown their qualities in recent games and this culminated in a superb 4 v 0 away win at Crawley in midweek. This result alone means the Clubs fate is in it's own hands.

The Manager is unlikely to make too many changes to Tuesday's starting line up which dominated the game at the Broadfield Stadium and recorded the Clubs biggest away victory in years. And the Manager will be looking for his side to repeat the wonderful second half showing his team put on in the away game at Stevenage earlier in the season.Town were trailing 2 v 0 at half time with the home side down to 10 men and 3 goals in 5 minutes dramatically changed the game and Town even overcame the dismissal of Tom Kearney to register a deserved victory.

The fans have a huge part to play again against Stevenage so turn out in force for the 5.15pm kick off and support the team.
