The Shaymen will be looking to return to winning ways, with two home games in four days. Town will be hopeful of a couple of good results to help steer the side away from the wrong end of the table. First up is Saturday's visit of play-off hopefuls Exeter City, who are currently fourth in the Nationwide Conference. This will be a tough test for Town against a team who have won five and drawn one of their last seven Conference matches.

The Shaymen will be keen to avenge the 4-1 reverse suffered on the South Coast earlier this season, in a match where the hosts were thoroughly flattered by the final result. Lewis Killeen gave Town the lead on 17 minutes, though the Grecians fought back to level before half-time. With just 15 minutes remaining, Exeter sneaked a second goal and, with Town throwing everything at their hosts as the final whistle drew near, City twice broke and netted to give a very unrealistic final score to what, in reality, was a close and keenly contested match.

Chris Wilder's men will be happy with a repeat of last season's fixture. On the same Saturday last year, a brace from Ryan Sugden gave Town a deserved 2-0 victory in the march towards the play-offs.

Whilst Exeter may hold the upper hand cumulatively, they have a poor record at The Shay, having not won since a 2-1 victory way back in September 1989. So while Exeter may have the better recent form going into the game, history suggests that the Shaymen may well prove a good bet. For all odds, check out Shaymenbet

Team News

Town will be hoping to include new centre-half, Greg Strong, in the side as all other recognised centre-halves remain on the injury list. The 6'2, 31-year-old signing requires international clearance, however, coming from Dundee in the Scottish League. Town will not want to risk the same fate as Shane Smeltz's former club, AFC Wimbledon, who were recently fined £12,000, expelled from the FA Trophy and docked 18 points for fielding a player signed from Cardiff City without due process in this regard.
